Invisible walls are there for a reason. They have many different uses, but their main use is to block out all the sticky part of the map, the areas where you get stuck and can't get free. They are mostly noticeable in e4m2, when you jump down the hole into the castle, an invisible wall will stop you from getting onto the secret ledge. They are also against each wall which is why you cant jump onto the small wooden frame.
