Re: My awesome new Quake rig

Looks great! Didn't I just ban you last month for putting casino links in your signature? Oh, wait, no, my mistake; that was someone named Collin. Your name is Collins, so you're obviously a completely different person who is about to get banned for trying to sneak casino links in your signature in...

Re: Microtransactions/DLC

And about a week later, the casino link appeared in his signature, so the lowlife assmunch is banned (and sig deleted). These seem a bit more clever than the average bot -- you have to pass the security question to register here and the replies to old threads are not just botspeak. Of course, all bo...

Re: Microtransactions/DLC

I want it too! *narrows eyes* I'm watching you. *points at eyes, points at Collin* You will get banned as soon as a casino link appears in your signature. And then I'll send a Shambler to your house to anally violate you. On the other hand, if you are a legit FvF player, you can get all the anal vi...

Thanks for the lessons!
You been schooled by the tran man!

EDIT: Ya know what? He was a spammer. Either the bots are getting smart enough to register, or people are making posts just so they can later put casino links in their signatures. I'm Nuking them now. Bastards.

Re: My awesome new Quake rig

Well, I had to add something for scale, so I decided upon an ancient wooden writing device that was also in use during the time of Quake, back in the 90s. Now that I think about it, kids these days may not know the size of a pencil.... I guess I should have used something kids would be familiar with...

Gunter's Mark V feedback thread.

I'm posting my feedback list for Mark V here in my forum, because it's really long, and things tend to get swallowed up over on the Mark V thread ( http://www.celephais.net/board/view_thread.php?id=61375 ). (When I refer to a number like #2123, that's a reference to a post on that page). Plus here I...

My awesome new Quake rig

Remember back in 1998, when we all wanted BIGGER stuff to run Quake on? Maybe we started out with a 13" monitor (I did), then upgraded to a larger 15" monitor, and later maybe we got a HUGE 17" monitor sitting beside our huge-ass tower computer.... Yeah, that was da bomb (as we used to say back in t...

Re: How to Connect to Server When DNS is Down

Hah, and then a few days later I try again to reclaim the fvf.servequake.com redirect, and it has finally been released from lack of use, heh, so it let me have it back.

So, that works again....

Re: How to Connect to Server When DNS is Down

Well, I sent a couple emails to Polarite back in November, but I never heard back from him.... So I don't know what's up with him or the free DNS thing. I assume that if the free DNS isn't renewed after a month or two, it would be released and I could re-grab it for myself and set it up, but every t...

Re: Is it worth the trouble

Note that the DNS is still down, so you'll have to use the IP address to connect: 45.32.1.41

I e-mailed Polarite last week, and again on Friday, but have heard nothing back... so I don't know what's up with that.

Thanks for letting me know. That's not something I ever really check....

I e-mailed Polarite.

Re: Is it worth the trouble

Indeed the server is not very active..... There's not a lot left of the Quake community as a whole, but it still lingers on. We had a set time for people to come play FvF, on Sunday night around 7 PM Central, but I don't think anyone has been showing up for that for quite a while. If I happened to s...

Re: Do you use the "Always Run" menu option? You shouldn't.

You can give feature requests to Baker on the Mark V thread at func: http://www.celephais.net/board/view_thread.php?id=61375&start=1735 I think he's previously stated he might do something like Quakespasm, where if you do have "Always Run" enabled it will cause the usual +speed key to act as a +slow...

Re: Ter Shibboleth - A New Quake Episode

Yeah, it's only the Quake-breaking massiveness that prevents us from trying them in FvF.
The server is running ProQuale Linux, and Polarite handles all that, so it would be rather difficult for us to test anything else.
