Re: You broke it!!

If the server is running maybe you can just type "quit" at the putty ssh prompt.

Re: You broke it!!

The use of the screen command confuses and complicates things.

You might try something like ps -u Gunter (or whatever your user name is) to see what you're running.

Re: You broke it!!

did you try the "ps" command at the shell command line, to list processes?

Actually, forget ps. Try "top"

"q" quits "top"

if you see glquake-glx or proquake or glpro in the list, you can try, for instance, kill [pid of quake]

Is this the worst photoshop ever? Probably. Did I spend more than 15 minutes on it? No.

And now back to mapping!

Re: What Quake engine do you use for FvF Quest?

I opened it up to 3 options now :P

But if you only use an engine like 20% of the time or less, please don't select it.

What Quake engine do you use for FvF Quest?

I'm working on a map and just want to see what everyone uses for FvF in Quest/coop mode (not versus modes). Thanks!

Sunday Night FvF -- 7:30pm Central Weekly

The players have spoken , and we will be having weekly FvF starting at this time: Sundays at 7:30pm Central (5:30 Pacific, 6:30 Mountain, 8:30 Eastern, 12:30am GMT). FYI: Lately, most people don't show up until after 8pm Central. If you don't like the day/time, go vote ! I'm sure it will go on for a...

Re: Weekly FvF Sessions -- Availability Survey

Based on current votes (and I can't tell who voted for what), I'm going with Sunday at 7pm Central (5 Pacific, 6 Mountain, 8 Eastern, 12am GMT).

Re: Do you use the "Always Run" menu option? You shouldn't.

Well if they want to keep the deceptive "Always Run" option (though I admit humans don't typically sidestep at high speeds, they don't usually run backwards either), maybe they should add another option for "Always Fast Strafe" and a third option for something like "Always M...

Re: Recording FvF Games for YouTube

I think I'll just record a demo first. Seems like the safer option. Mainly I just want some recordings of a big FvF reunion.

Also, with a demo, I can run the game fullscreen while recording. Can't seem to record darkplaces in fullscreen mode with OBS.

Anyhow, the more the merrier :)

Recording FvF Games for YouTube

So I tried SimpleScreenRecorder, and that kinda sucked. Lots of audio errors. Then I tried Open Broadcaster Software, which was top-voted here: http://alternativeto.net/software/fraps/?platform=linux OBS seems to work well, now that I figured it out. (Darkplaces in-game avi recording, by the way, re...

Weekly FvF Sessions -- Availability Survey

Just looking to get an idea of when everyone can play. Maybe we could have twice-weekly scheduled "playdates" ( twice in case you can't make one of them). Of course, anyone can jump on the server anytime, but with such a small player base and busy lives, it would be nice to have regular ti...

No worries. You don't have to add them. I'll remove the ones that are definitely worthless anyhow.

But I'll email them so you can take a look.
