Re: Ter Shibboleth - A New Quake Episode

Yeah, it's only the Quake-breaking massiveness that prevents us from trying them in FvF.
The server is running ProQuale Linux, and Polarite handles all that, so it would be rather difficult for us to test anything else.

Re: Probleming loading fvf

Ok, it sounds like you are loading the mod, so at that point you need to connect to the server. Type in console: connect fvf.servequake.com Not a lot of people play anymore, but maybe if you join the server on Sunday nights, someone might show up. Of course there are always plenty of monsters to kill!

Re: Here's how to get your Google Cast extension back in older Operating Systems.

Glad you were able to get it working. Thanks for the info. I assume you're using Chrome Canary or some other different/older version of Chrome.... I guess I'll note here for future reference (from the article), if anyone else has that problem of the extension not wanting to install with the error, &...

Re: Here's how to get your Google Cast extension back in older Operating Systems.

You might try installing Chrome or Slimjet to see if the extension works from one of those browsers. If not, then it may be an issue with your router settings or something. I don't know if Opera has any setting that could interfere, such as the media router setting in Chrome, which must be disabled ...

Re: Here's how to get your Google Cast extension back in older Operating Systems.

I really can't help with Opera. I use either Chrome or Slimjet (a chromium browser) for casting.

That is the correct page. There are several servers listed where you can download the file. Look for the large, green "down arrows" on the page where it says: Download Google Cast crx 15.1120.0.4: Choose a server location to download the crx file: Google CDN Zippyshare SendSpace Crx4Chrome

Re: Sunday Night FvF -- 7:30pm Central Weekly

Technically it's still scheduled, but it hasn't been getting much, if any, play for a couple months. I do tend to check the server each Sunday night, and I will connect if I see anyone there.... There just hasn't been anyone there. So if you connect on Sunday night around 7:30 Central, people may sh...

Re: quakeone.com is returning 508 errors.

Yep, looks dead. But you'd probably get more info asking on func You don't need to register there either. http://celephais.net/board/forum.php I use Qview to ping servers. Get it here: http://www.quaketerminus.com/servers.shtml Of course, you'd probably have to look at a cached page of Quakeone to g...

Re: Here's how to get your Google Cast extension back in older Operating Systems.

Did you drag and drop the downloaded crx file onto the "chrome://extensions" page in Chrome? If so, it should create the new folder inside /Users/eefsmeets/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/extensions/ (make sure you are looking in the "extensions" folder). It wil...

Re: Here's how to get your Google Cast extension back in older Operating Systems.

Usually an extension won't auto-update itself that fast, and there will be time to mess with it before it does. It almost sounds like you may be installing the newest "version" that instantly removes itself. Check to make sure the crx you downloaded is the 15.1120.0.4 version from March 23...

Forum Update

I updated the forum to the latest version, which made some significant changes.

If it looks super borked up for you, you need to forceably reload (CTRL+RELOAD or CTRL+F5), or clear your browser cache.

Re: Here's how to get your Google Cast extension back in older Operating Systems.

Yeah, I was worried that Locking the folder might prevent options from being changed in the extension, but that does not seem to be the case. You can still modify options for the extension without problem. I'm really unfamiliar with OSX, but just using the "Locked" checkbox in the Folder I...

Re: Here's how to get your Google Cast extension back in older Operating Systems.

I know, I found how difficult it is to browse folders in OSX. It's like many folders are invisible....

Did the method I described about using Finder -> Go to Folder, and pasting in your "Profile Path" not work? That was the easiest method I found to get there.
