hi... JaCKo here

don't go by jacko any more though, oddly it turned out to be my wife's last name from her first marriage lol. (what's the odds of that?) anyway, just decided to pop in and see if fvf was still around, or quake 1 for that matter lol. been so long since the old days of quake.

Ahhh, hi ex-JaCKo.

Yeah, we're still around.... Foq hosts the server now.

Recently we've been playing around with running the server in the Darkplaces engine, but that seems to have certain compatibility issues.....

Quake 1 isn't dead yet. Most of the Quake community hangs out around http://quakeone.com

Just the other day, Foq asked if there was an image he could put in his forum signature at Quakeone to link to FvF, so I went and found your animated FvF gif.... But since the images on your old FvF site don't seem to work anymore: http://fvf.home.mchsi.com/

I had to get the gif from the internet archived page: http://web.archive.org/web/200806140429 ... mchsi.com/

I see I'm replying like 12 years later, but anyway... are you the jacko that Mage's lightning weapon was named after?

Yes, he is (or was) the very same JaCKo.

It's still great.... Too bad nobody plays anymore, heh.

Actually, Monster was on the server today.

I have an android app that pings me whenever someone connects, so I usually join and see what's going on.

Who are you, by the way? What names did you go by in Quake?

In my fantasy, Bethesda releases the “Dimension of the Machine” episode for free to promote their Quake2 update, and then we all play that on the FvF server. Or something...
