I'm glad I had the chance to meet him.
Even if you guys weren't really familiar with him or never played D&D, he was responsible for a lot of the popularity of fantasy and RPG games, and maybe things like the FvF mod wouldn't exist without Gygax.... He was the one who really popularized game concepts like Classes and Levels and role-playing games.
And he was just a very friendly guy who enjoyed interacting with other gamers, and was always happy to chat and sign autographs.
