Qrack player texture issue

Post by BreVaun »

I was play on the server today and every other time I've played the player skins were fine but now one is very strange. No idea what has caused this but if possible a fix would be amazing.

Yeah, that's a modified player.mdl

You'll have to find where that is and... make sure it's not in use when playing FvF.

Possible locations:

\id1\progs\

Hm, I don't think that comes standard with Qrack... but you might check for it in:

\qrack\progs\

I doubt it would be in the qrack pak file, \qrack\pak0.pak
and it should not be in \fvf\progs\ unless you put it there yourself...

Maybe do a file search in your quake folder for player.mdl so see if it turns up.

Or maybe whoever sent you Quake had already modified it to include that model... but wasn't it working for you the other day with the skins in FvF?

Anyway... there's a modified player model somewhere, and the skins don't fit it.

Not really sure that's a modified model. The helmet looks a little more detailed, maybe. And the skin, as far as the clothes, looks nicer, but that's it.

Well, there is a player.mdl in my pak2.pak in the quake/qrack/ directory

and there's a cubeplayer.mdl (to show the bounding box?) and a hunterplayer.mdl in my pak1.pak

Can't tell what the hunterplayer.mdl is.

Anyhow, I ran fvf without loading the fvf stuff (-game fvf) and everyone just had the default textures.

I think maybe your highly customized qrack version (exe aside) is the source of the problem, BreVaun.

Hm, but when you run Qrack with FvF, the FvF player model overrides the Qrack ones, yeah?

Wonder why it's not doing that for him....

Yup. And the player.mdl from qrack doesn't even look special. Can't tell what's different about it.

So... I would ask Rook.

Is there maybe an option or setting in Qrack to not use the md3 player model?

BreVaun, you might try turning off cl_teamskin , if it's on.

or look through the custom config you were given for anything skin or model related.

Otherwise, rename your qrack folder, and see what happens.
